Warrior Kids Feedback

Feedback from Participants

Warrior Kids is COOL!
- Warrior Kid

Every Thursday morning and Monday afternoon I go to Warrior Kids with my friends. We do Warrior Kids in the school hall. We do lots of new games that we haven’t played before. My best game is octopus, and many more. Papa Tim makes us do challenges. Today one of our challenges was to role and tag with our eyes closed. I like it because we do challenges and games.
- Warrior Kid

This term I started Warrior Kids. We play a lot of different games. My favourite is chain tag. Every week we play different games and we learn to talk about things. I like going because it is fun. I think it is good that we learn to talk about things. Whenever we finish our wrap-up activity we breathe in and out to help us relax.
- Warrior Kid

Warrior Kids helps you to lose your anger. We have to breathe in and out and relax and chill out. When you feel settled you need to tell an adult. I like the games we play and I like the rolling on the mats. I like it when Nanny comes along.

Feedback from Parents

I was paying heaps for a counsellor, so I tried Warrior Kids instead. Warrior Kids has really helped my son and given him so much more. He’s improved at his school work and gone up reading levels since he started.
- Parent

I was going to pay $400 for an 8 week parenting course, but then I found Warrior Kids. It’s teaching me to be a better father.
- Parent

I like the balance of physical, emotional, spiritual and fun aspects of each session. I like the way the facilitators relate to the children with respect; firm yet focused, caring and supportive. Warrior Kids should be part of every school curriculum. As a parent observing, I have learnt also.
- Parent

Warrior Kids was good because it was something that complemented the kids’ education and helped them deal with stuff at school and at home.
- Parent

My daughter has learnt respect for others, respect for herself, alternatives to violence (against herself and others), how to keep safe, communication skills and had fun. I applaud the efforts of Tim to keep the classes affordable. As a parent, I chose Warrior Kids as an alternative to gymnastics, because I believe it provides a variety of values and skills that will ultimately benefit the whole community. By producing children with the skills necessary to communicate, to avoid violence and to look after themselves and others, we enrich New Zealand and the future.
- Parent

My son’s behaviour and confidence has improved noticeably since attending Warrior Kids. He has learnt ways to appropriately deal with anger and he stops to think before reacting. He mixes in better with other children, enjoys responsibility and understands his feelings better.

Feedback from Schools

Every child and every adult in New Zealand should go through Warrior Kids.
- School Principal

It is an excellent programme and has such a roll-on effect of behavioural improvement in the school, which I believe must extend into the community.
- Deputy Principal

We have had a lot of positive feedback from parents and have seen the benefits here at school. We would like all of our children to have the opportunity to attend the Warrior Kids programme.

Feedback from the Community

Warrior Kids is exceptional and essential to our kids in West Auckland.
- Family Therapist, Waitemata Health

It is through programmes such as Warrior Kids that children learn the skills to become well-balanced, socially cohesive adults of tomorrow. The benefit of attending Warrior Kids will impact on the child for the rest of their life and the spin offs will benefit their families, our communities and our society.
